What We Liked in Huawei Honor 5X–

  • The phone is made of metal and its brushed aluminium texture looks premium and it looks more expensive than its price.
  • The 5.5 indh full HD 1080p display is beautiful and it is bright enough under the sunlight also.
  • The Snapdragon 616 octacore processor along with 2 GB RAM can handle daily tasks smoothly and shows decent performance in running games also.
  • The 13 MP back and 5 MP front shooters take nice pictures in daylight.
  • The Fingerprint sensor is amazingly fast to respond and it does many works other than unlocking the device.
  • The battery is decent and will get you at least one day of use for heavy users too.
  • The battery is fast charging also and gets fully charged in around 2 hours.
  • The sound is loud enough to hear even in the crowdie places.
  • There’s not much heating considering that it has a metallic body.
  • Both the Sim slots show good connectivity on 4G networks.

What Could Be Better in Huawei Honor 5X

  • There’s no headphones included in the box.
  • The build quality is great but the metal on the back makes it slippery to hold.
  • There’s no protection for the screen such as Gorilla Glass.
  • The OTG is not supported, there’s no Gyroscope and NFC.
  • The light sensor is not quick and takes time to adjust according to the light.
  • The camera isn’t up to the mark in low light conditions.
  • From 16 GB of storage you will get only around 9.5 GB of free Ram only.
  • The RAM management could also be better.

Features & Specifications of Huawei Honor 5X

Performance –
The 1.5 GHz processor backed by 2 GB RAM and Adreno 405 GPU makes the Huawei Honor 5X strong enough to handle any task thrown at it without any lag and multitasking is also smooth enough. The phone is exciting enough for heavy gamers too as it performs very well while playing games like Asphalt 8, Nova 3, Dead Trigger 2 etc. and there’s no big rise in temperature also.

Looks & Screen –
The Huawei Honor 5X is a very stylish looking phone and the gold version is the best among all. It is built fantastically and has got an awesome body which absolutely feels like more expensive than its price.
The Huawei Honor 5X has a 5.5 inch full HD screen with IPS LCD panel which provides you good viewing angles. It is sharp and the colours seem natural. The display controls the reflections well because of the lamination stuck on it. Watching Youtube videos are enjoyable on the screen.

Fingerprint Scanner –
The fingerprint scanner 2.0 is fast and accurate, it’s not only just for unlocking the phone but it also has many other functions such as launching apps directly when phone is locked, capturing snapshots, answering a call, to stop alarm and to show notification panel etc.

The Verdict –

The Huawei Honor 5X is overall a good mid-range smartphone and ticks almost all the boxes. It looks premium, has a great display, performs decently and it has a decent camera too. The fingerprint sensor is a great and useful addition that does a lot of things besides unlocking the phone. Yes, it is not that perfect and has some blemishes such as average low light camera, absence of NFC and Gyroscope and no OTG support but there’s no major drawback of this phone yet you can look for other options like LeEco Le 1sXiaomi Redmi Note 3 if you want.
